Nice video.

Newbie question, how hard is it to read the SPG in that configuration? I always have to struggle to read it when they are facing down like that. Any tips and tricks?

Stick your elbows back and bring them forward, they should catch the SPG in the point and bring them forward for you, aside from that, they are simple enough to read by grabbing them and pulling them forward :)
 
What material is those plates made of? They look pretty nice.
 
beginner question here. The only thing i can see in this video for BC is the drysuit itself so i was wondering if there is something else i didn't see. Im not judging just open to all the different ways of diving in sidemount. And i like backup plan a lot.

The thread name does say "no wing" but you are right, the drysuit is the only form of BC in this video.
