What do you use to clean the inside of a bcd so mold or bacteria does not grow on the inside.

Just rinse the inside very good with fresh water.

There are a lot of products available to clean BCs specifically to kill bacteria in the bladder. I have no favorites. I usually just rinse with fresh water like stangscuba98a. I only use BC cleaners after a lot of dives on a BC or before storage. It is not a bad idea to use specialized cleaners. I just get lazy about it.

What type of BC cleaners are you referring to?

I've heard the following used:

1. Bleach/water mixture
2. Listerine/water mixture (yum!)

I use a mint mouthwash and water. Swish it around, let the excess dribble out, and you're good to go.

Someone gave me a Christmas gift last year, a mesh bag with an assortment of dive-gear care products. Included was a BC internal rinse product, which I used after my last dive. Ordinarily, I just do the freshwater rinse & soak, then hang the BC to air dry for a few days with the valves off.

I saw the same care package in my LDS today.

Yup.

But I also unscrew my rear dump valves, and rinse through those, as well.
