The river is in downtown Augusta (you would take 1-20 to riverwatch parkway (last exit in GA) and follow it downtown. The river is the boundary between SC and GA. We will dive either the lake or river depending on the amount of rain we get tonight. Lake vis has been good and is not effected as much by rain. A heavy rain can make the river pretty much undiveable. I'll post tomorrow as to the plan, but you might want to pm me a phone number just in case we get rain Saturday night (there is a small chance). The river dive is interesting.Vis lately has been about 10'. Depths are 20' max, current is usually mild and we drift anyway. There is a bit of history on this dive. A shipwreck from the 1920s or 30s (depending on what story you believe). There are also the old Hamburg cotton docks. When cotton was king, there was a very long (about a mile or so) dock where barges and ships would dock to load up cotton to carry to Savannah. This is about 1/4 of the way out into the river from the SC side. The docks were cut off about 3' underwater, but the rock base and posts remain and make a good fish habitat. The Georgia side has large boulders, the remains of the old Hamburg bridge and other neat stuff. It is about a 1- 1/2 hour dift dive depending on current. Water temps will probably be in the 60s (5-7mm with hood and gloves temps).
