Though be aware of the cats, when it comes to food they are demanding. we did several dives with them that cannot be done via a live-a-board.
What's it like to dive with cats? Are they good on gas consumption? Do they eat fish underwater?

Was in Blue Lagoon last year. Wifi was added to the rooms.
Restraunt has a very large menu. None of the food was bad, but sometimes a little different than you would normally expect. Was there just before the supply ship arrived and we would have fun with what are they out of today? Even with that, I am a picky eater and never had any issues with meals.

If you are going here for a dive vacation, would you rather have the good dives and fair food, or fair dives and good food? It's a 3rd world country. Not going to find a pampered 5-star resort.
Good perspective, I'll take good dives 1st!

Thanks to all for the insights, looking forward to it! Ended up with Blue Lagoon.

Now the question of how are you getting there. Two options for all practical purposes. Either through Guam, or the island hopper. I'll pick Guam, with layover in Nirita as my prefered route.

Looking at the beginning stages of a trip for 2027... BLR do they offer more than 2 tanks a day? We like to do at least 3 tanks with the possibility of a night dive as well or 2x 2 tank trips per day. One of my dive buddies gets super restless if it's just two morning dives and then done so that would be a big reason to go with liveaboard instead for us.

You can do 3 tanks per day, just let them know that is what you want. There are no night dives as they wouldn't be able to find the wrecks.

The guides are really good at dead reckoning where the wrecks are at. No surface bouys. But they have to have a good view of land.

I have only done Truk as tech dives, thus 2 dives a day is typical. I see no reason you can't do triple recreational dives. Transit times are the same, just need to plan for how long the boat ride is. The guides really want to be back soon enough they can get home before dark as well. And catch the lunch window at the restaurant (limited hours) might be a limitation.

Check out my thread about Truk Lagoon which compares BL to a week long liveaboard. The answer is most likely yes to afternoon dives, they've very flexible. You might not want to do a night dive after you read my thread.

That's not the only reason they don't do night dives.
