I apologize in advance about this dumb excuse for a post.

So I just got my Chuck Taylors to use as drysuit boots. I want to get the inner liner out.

The glue is a PITA! I had to get pliers and a small knife and finally got the liner out of one of the shoes. It took almost 20 minutes.

The good news: without the liner, it fits even better. I like.

The bad news: I can't bring myself to work on the other shoe. My whole body hurts.

Am I missing an obvious method other than elbow grease? The only thing I can think of is to maybe boil the shoe in hot water and hope to soften the glue. Any ideas?

Soak the parts you want to remove (not the whole shoe) for 2-3 minutes in lacker thinner (not paint thinner) this will soften the glue and make it a breeze to pull apart.

You can use an eye dropper or a cheap turkey baster to put the stuff where it has to go.

Be careful, it's very flammable, best used outdoors.
