Hi there,

I live in Kuwait and am very very keen to become certified as a diver and can only really find dive schools here that do the PADI open water course. I am aware that in order to become a qualified, safe, and enviromentally friendly diver it does take a lot more than the PADI course alone but would like now to take this first step. My worry is that due to my lack of experience Im not sure what questions to ask in order to judge the experience and / or safety attitudes and records of a dive school. If anyone could please give me a few pointers regarding these first steps I would be really greatful. My goal is to safely enjoy the experience without damaging either the enviroment, myself or anyone around me.

Many Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom,
Welcome to Scuba Board.
My instructor was recommended to me by a friend who he had certified. Ask the instructor for references. You are the customer and your safety needs to be a primary concern..

Good luck.
