hello there everyone, still new on the boards but this place is great for info. my 11 yr old son is going to get certified for open water very soon, i cant find a wet suit for cold water for him. i need a 6.5mm farmer john style. were up here in the pacific NW by canada and the water is about 46 to 48 degrees. does anyone know of a retailer that sells these suits. he absolutely loves this sport and i want to share it with him. please help me, and chase the soon to be scuba duba kid.

My son got certified at 12 and was skinny as a rail. Finding a suit that would fit his small and skinny frame was a major problem. It is also a major problem that had to be solved each season as despite my directives to cease and desist all growth once we found a suit, he continued his annoying habit of growing.

Most LDS's will not stock really small suits as they don't sell consistently well. But we still usually found a suit through contacts with local dive shops. In this area there is sort of an underground network of parents who swap suits around. Ask the LDS owners, they may not have a usable suit in the shop but odds are they will know a parent with a kid who owns a suit they have probably outgrown.

If you end up needing a new suit Ocean Ray sells suits in kids sizes:

And several other companies make custom suits although this can get expensive when done on a yearly basis:

 I remember reading that Liquid Fit offers a childs suit that will grow with the child. Don't know pricing.

Good luck!!

Surf shops tend to have a younger customer base...you may also get some better pricing
