I had the opportunity to photograph a get-together of "Vintage Divers" at Weeki Wachee this past weekend. They all had their double hose single stage regulators, duck tail wetsuits, hard packs (or no packs!). There was even a Scubapro Decompression Meter -- the old "bendomatic". Anyway, my son, my dad, and I hung out for the day and I shot some topside and underwater images of the event.

For the past five years we have gathered in central Florida for a vintage dive gear ralley called Sand Dog named for sandy hot dogs. Next year we gather in a new and exciting location. Other events ocurr at Wazee in Wisconsin and as well Portage Quarry in Ohio. N

It was a lot of fun this year but next year looks like it's going to be great, I am already making plans to attend.

Those are some wacky lookin rebreathers!

Doug, any reason you interspersed photos of these divers with photos of Peacocks? :)

Thanks for sharing those, you should make some black and white for an old look...just my opinion! I feel like im looking at old pics from the 50's! I love Weeki too its such a photogenic place with SO much history....between the mermaid shows they've been doing for decades to recently its the deepest underwater cave in the US! Share more if you can!
