Cheap Backplates

Hi there guys,

I am in the market for cheapish backplates. Has anyone got any good ideas on the shops that I can go to in Manila to look for these pricey things? Any suggestions on the names of the backplates would be useful too.

but pao's right... KAG backplates are relatively inexpensive i think but according to jon they've already discolored...

Why would you want a backplate? you want to die? Please go and ask Mike Veitch (he's the resident BP/W expert here).

Tom of Diver's Network had some plates made. Stainless Steel, 4.5 lbs and shiny. I haven't used one but they looked nice when I saw them. He posts here under the username diveshop@diveph.com if you want to PM him. If I remember right, he was charging aroung 2500 Php. If you want a wing and harness too, he said he was getting an order in the next few days.

as jag mentioned, i use a kag (philtec) bp. works well for me, a bit discolored but i'd prefer that than shining like a mirror underwater

i got my Ss from philtek as well but no discoloration....

try nautilus 839 A Arnaiz Ave. nice brushed black finish. as Mike Veitch will tell you style is very important and black is the only colour for the discerning bp/w diver
