I can almost piece together an answer to this question from reading older posts.. Still, here is my question. I will be diving Palancar and Columbia on my own while my girlfriend does her thing at the hotel. She would, however, like to snorkel with me and watch me do a dive or two at the park if that is possible. I've been there before (i did my first dive ever there) but I can't remember the specifics. That would work, right? I'll just come in with my gear, rent a tank, weights, get the required dm, and she can follow us, yeah?

I don't think that would be a problem at all. It's been YEARS since I was in the park, but as long as you divers stay within the swim area, I don't see what the issue would be.

If you venture beyond the roped off swim area, and she followed, then maybe the park might have an issue with it.

Palancar and Columbia on your own? I hope that you mean with a reputable dive operator!

As far as your Chankanaab question, they shouldn't charge you extra for her to snorkel above you...but she will have to pay the park fees, etc. as I'm sure you already know.

Go early A.M. before the cruise ships crowds get there.

or on Sunday, if they are open on Sunday...no cruise ships on Sunday.
