They say that 5000K and up are considered Daylight bulbs, and 5000K does look a lot like 6500Ks, but I like the stronger effect. Just don't bump or bulb snatch as the bulbs still produce some heat and the tubes get pretty brittle - easy to break moving them.

I wish LEDs would work, but I can't find 6500K & over 1,000 lumens I want in them, they cost several times as much - and don't save but about 20% on electricity compared to CFBs.

The CFBs last for years, save plenty on power costs to offset purchase prices, and I've been almost fully equipped for many, but I have to replace one now and then. They've become difficult to find in stores tho, where 2700K seems the most offered. I guess slightly lower prices sell more when most people don't know the difference.

I've been quite pleased with this supplier tho. Shipping costs start around $14, but with their lower prices - as long as you buy 8 or 10 at a time, cheaper than stores. The more you order at once, the lower the costs. Just be sure to check "Medium E26" Base, "6500K" Color Temp, and "Sort by Price: Low to High" before selecting: www.prolighting.com/fltwbu.html
