Some recommendations please.
My son is a PADI AOW and IANTD Nitrox certified diver and is now living in Columbus, Ohio. His girl friend is interested in being certified but he has no personal knowledge of the LDSs and training facilities in the area. I told him that I would post on this board for possible recommendations for the best OW training programs in the area.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Drive to Cincinnati to get training from Cincinnati Dive Center (www.cincinnatidiving.com).....you'll be glad you did.

ASK Scubacenter would be a good choice for the Columbus area.

I knew someone would bring up ASK. I dont really like them as the owner is a complete pain in the butt and their prices are astronomical.

For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the LDS in Reynoldsburg. Based on Hearsay (from a friend), they do a very good job.

Found it!

Try to contact Chris at COVCI in columbus. While he may not be a SCUBA instructor (I honestly don't know) I know he has info on who in the area would be a good instructor. He also has a wide range of gear and is pretty perosonable to talk to.

FYI, I think CDC ain't all it's cracked up to be, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks everybody. I will forward the information and I am sure that between the tips and his speaking to the people he will come up with a good, safe, and capable program.

try ber-rabit she is an instructor if you can get past the bunny hat!!! :littlesho :D:D

CDC has much better credentials than ASK. And yes, it's only my opinion, but I have received top notch training on more than one certification, and I always get treated like a human being when at the shop. I never get any of the "my LDS treats me like ****" attitude that so many complain about. I also like how they only certify thru PADI if you ask specifically for that certification. They always certify thru NAUI as their first choice. It's just my opinion.

Sub Aquatics in Reynoldsburg (east of Columbus) is really good.
ASK is good, too.
Ohio School of Diving (I think) is pretty good, so I hear.

If you or your son wants any more info., call me. I'll PM my phone number if you'd like.

Randy
