I see that you have no guts whatsoever. You even had to ask the powers that be if you would be safe.

What a wimp.

Well as one of the most obvious sophomoric posters, I'm sure you are "safe".

Wimp? Could that be you?

This board continues to decline, sad.

A ScubaBoard Staff Message...

OK gentlemen,

this thread is for the exchange of viewpoints and opinions, not for trading insults.

Please keep it civil.

Another anonymous peanut gallery member.

Glad you could make it out.

:11: what is happening in this thread? no wonder it looks like 2AM in MOF.

You don't have to Opt-In. and your pretty little world hasn't been changed.Hows that?

This is true despite my world not being little or pretty. But the question is why should SB have a section, opt in or not, devoted to non-diving if it is a forum for diving? Do the wants of a few members warrent the time, space and cost to do so? What is the benefit to the board and othetr board members and not just to you?

You seem to be harshing your mellow........
This doesn't effect only him. MOF is a huge family of friends. We actively dive together and visit together. Instead of allowing it to annoy you, don't opt in.......

For one thing every person that worked in the SB booth at the Florida Dive Show this weekend is in the Surface Interval, so I'd say that these are people that do benefit the board as a whole. Some of them travelled in from out of town on their own dime to work in the booth. Wouldn't you agree that this was of benefit to the board as a whole?

Because divers do more than dive.

Do the wants of a few members warrent the time, space and cost to do so?
No time is required. Space and cost are basically nil.

What is the benefit to the board and othetr board members and not just to you?
It would benefit the users that want to use it and have zero impact on the ones that don't.

Says someone that drove in from out of town, on his own dime, to work in the SB booth.

As those discussions about Bikinis were taking place in the Surface Interval, which is for non-diving topics and is an Opt-In forum, what is the harm? You do not have to go into the Surface Interval if you do not choose to. You do not have to go through the Surface Interval to get to any dive related forums. I too come here primarily for diving related discussions or research, but I also enjoy talking with my friends.
Agreed, but the harm (?) could be the resources needed to provide that forum. It will take bandwidth, mod time (although probably not much of that), and I'm sure have a cost associated with it, all of which dilutes the rest of the board which is focused on diving. And if an opt-in forum already exists (even if on another board), why not just go there?
