As a member of this community I come here to discuss scuba diving, and those things that relate to it. I don't see how anything in the TOS or in the Mod's editing of posts has decreased the information I want or can exchange with other members. I actually like the absence of discussion about religion, politics, and even sex. The internet is well established with forums to have those discussions. The only "nudi" my boss will see while I'm reading is from an underwater shot. And because of that this site is OK for me to view at work. I don't need every forum to be Wal-Mart. Sometimes I just need the corner store: it has what I want or need and I can get in and out and know what I am getting. I have no problem with the forum the way it is.

If you can tell me how "Bikini of the week" (then be prepared for "Plum Smuggler of the week" :shakehead: for the ladies) or "This is what's wrong with XXXXX (country, religion, philosophy)" threads will increase my knowledge and enjoyment of diving, I may change my mind.

You don't have to Opt-In. and your pretty little world hasn't been changed.

Hows that?

For just a few dollars, you can purchase your own copy of VB the software that SB uses ...blah blah blah
Hmmm...I see this argument all the time I don't like it.
It's like asking someone who has grown up in a small village all their life to leave that village, their family and friends and all that is familiar to them because they want free speech in a village that bans free speech.

Rather than try to force a private owner of a site to run his site the way you want instead of allowing him the freedom to run his company as he sees fit.
What a crock of ****. Jep is a customer and is entitled to give HIS FEEDBACK in the feedback forum. He is not trying to FORCE anybody to do anything.
Their are a lot of us on here who agree with him. Have a look at my stats and see how I am coming here less and less.
We are not all religious puritans who damn near fall over dead when a sexual innuendo or cuss word is posted.

The censorship on this forum has been getting stronger and stronger and I don't like it. Most of us are adults here and if kids want to come and play here...well...it's just like the real world isn't it? You sometimes see and hear stuff you just don't want to but you grit your teeth and get over it. After all isn't that called growing up? Isn't that how we define ourselves in life? Or do we all just crawl back to mummies breast and cry because some grumpy man called another a twit or some dude flirted with some cute girl.

As those discussions about Bikinis were taking place in the Surface Interval, which is for non-diving topics and is an Opt-In forum, what is the harm? You do not have to go into the Surface Interval if you do not choose to. You do not have to go through the Surface Interval to get to any dive related forums. I too come here primarily for diving related discussions or research, but I also enjoy talking with my friends.
