Cenote Dive Site and Shop recommendations please

Another vote for Leif - did Chac Mool with him a few years ago. They were my dad's last dives so I look back fondly on those dives.
I came out the water with a massive grin that lasted for a week or 2.
Would Leif like fries with his chicken ?

My Wife and I will be traveling to Puerto Morelos at the end of October. We are very interested in spending one day on a Cenote dive. We have done lots of dives all over the Caribbean, but we have never done any kind of cave diving. We were in Cancun last year and we saw a brochure about cenotes and we decided the next time we came down we would go. So we are heading down in October it is not really a dive trip, but we are going to take one day to experience a Cenote. We are not really sure what is the best Cenote to dive and what shop is really the best/safest dive shop to use.

There are a lot of caverns in this area, and all are really magnificent. To choose one, everything depends on you, your experience, level, number of dives, etc.

I dove the Cenote this spring with Aquanauts out of Puerto Morelos and whould highly recomend them.

Just got back from Playa where we did the Cenotes. I strongly recommend Nico at Cenote Xperience. He is completely fantastic and when you dive in caverns and caves you really want someone who knows what they're doing and you can trust them. Nico is a full cave diver with all the knowledge and experience. He is amazing. He will pick you up, explain everything and give you all the info required, yummy sandwiches, snacks, soft drinks and water are all provided too. It's personal service at its best!!!!

Can't say enough about the service and the quality of the guys.

Contact Nicolas at www.cenotexperience.com.mx He will pick you up. He is very professional and safety minded. He also provides lunch and drinks. He makes the best subs on jalapeno bread.

Yet another vote for Nico at CenoteXperience. I did my Cavern Cert with him and am spending three more days with him this year. If you're looking for knowledgeable, safe, friendly, prompt and professional, you're looking for Nico! If you're looking to go off the line, break the rules, etc. please, take TS&M's advice and stay out of the caverns.

Dos Ojos is a great first time Cenote, as is El Eden or Gran Cenote. If you find you like them, personally - I was instantly hooked, there are many many more to choose from as your experience grows!
