CCR & OC mixed teams for OW Recreational Diving? Good idea or not?

I agree, you're going to need some SERIOUS hours before taking that into a cave! Find a buddy with a really big pool, get it nice and warm and just live in it for several days :). I hear iPad tablet covers have come a long way, one of those and a Netflix subscription and you should be good! hehehe

Just getting a lot of hours on a ccr is easy since it is possible to have long runtimes. I might be the only one to think this way, but I do think that you need a large number of dives also. 100 dives of 1 hours will give you more experience with set ups, descents, and ascents than 25 dives of 4 hours will ever do. Basically, I think you need well rounded experience on the unit rather than just a lot of diving hours.

Agreed. I've been blessed that my Tech/ Cave/ Rebreather instructor has made me go a minimum of double the hours/ dives required by standards in any course I have taken form him. Being I live close & work for him, it is not a problem & I agree that more experience is good.
