I may be the opposite. I want great diving and my wife wants a secluded beach. Tell me about the options on the quiet side of the island including dive ops. thanks!!!
Generally speaking, that would be the East End. There are a few threads on East End dive ops already. There are two time share resorts, Morritt's and The Reef, on the East End. Both offer rentals and all units have cooking facilities. There are also rental houses available which may provide a more secluded beach. Do a web search for Cayman Villas and you'll see a few options.
Have fun.
East end definitely fits the bill - quiet side close to dive ops. Ocean Frontiers
seems to be the consensus for EE dive ops. I dove with them last October and
think they are great. Morritt's and Reef are both relatively modern time share/
rentals. I stayed at Morritt's and it's a nice as most mid-line hotels. It's about
7 minutes from Morritt's/Reef to OF. We never ate at the resort restaurants,
mostly cooked in our room, though did have dinner one night in SMB and one night
at the Italian place on the East End (can't recall the name - owned and run by
a family from India).
Boddentown is a nice area as it puts you a little closer to town and closer to some of
the bigger markets, while still being on the quieter side. Figure a 20-25 minute drive
from there to OF each morning. If you're into dining out, this might be a better choice
as it puts you closer to SMB - dining choices on the east end are fairly limited.
Have fun.
