Yesterday, the Cayman Islands Government announced its plan for allowing international stayover visitors. While the announcement did not provide an exact reopening date, it is being reported that international tourism will be able to resume in March 2021.
The Cayman Islands have taken a far more conservative approach to reopening for international tourism versus other Caribbean nations. Likewise, the Government’s announced reopening plan is also based upon a very conservative strategy. While the announcement did not include detailed reopening protocols, the plan’s foundation is based upon first vaccinating Cayman healthcare workers and the Island’s elderly and medically vulnerable population and requires visitors to provide proof that they have undergone a full COVID-19 vaccination regimen. Additionally, visitors will be required to receive a negative result from a PCR test upon arrival.
This path to reopening the Cayman Islands borders to tourism is contingent upon the approval and distribution of a vaccine in the United States, Canada, and other countries where you call home. The United Kingdom has begun distributing a vaccine, and shipments are on the way to the US. It is hoped that Canada will begin distribution shortly. We understand that the requirements of this plan make the timing of our ability to welcome you back contingent upon factors that are beyond anyone’s control.
We plan to reopen our resorts at the very first opportunity when it is allowed by the Cayman Government and practical for our guests to return. We hope that the March 2021 timeline is realistic but will continue to keep you informed as we receive additional details.

We do have a group trip planned for September 4-11, 2021 to Little Cayman Beach Resort. With the pacage you will get free nitrox and free afternoon dives. Plus, if you have a buddy who wants to learn to dive or you want to upgrade your certificate to nitrox, we will pay for your course!
