Cliff was still doing breakfast when I was there in February and doing a great job!

Happily, Cliff is still there (and he's made a new addition to the braeakfast menu -- Tiara McMuffin).

"New"?

Cliff's been claiming that the Tiara McMuffin has been "New" every year for the past ten years!

Glad to hear they're doing OK.

Hi,

I'm planning to go to Cayman Islands. I am debating weather to say in GC or to fly to brac. Initially wanted to go to loc but all flight are booked. (Should have planned much earlier) :( well, I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions on weather to say in GC or just to fly to Brac. I have 1 week to dive around! :)
I was looking at Divi Tiara website as well as brac beach resort. Both seem to have only 1 trip a week to go to LC if weather allows. Did you find the one trip satisfying? or you wished to go to the LC more often? Have you experienced or heard of the experiences of the brac beach resort? Any reply is much appreciated!!!!

Love to hear from you all.

Thanks!

Azure

I'm sure you would have a nice trip to the Brac. But if I couldn't get to LC, I personally would just skip the extra time and trouble of the interisland flights and stay on GC. The East End is pretty quiet, the diving almost as good as LC (the walls just don't start as shallow.) And if you want shopping and stuff easy enough to drive to the West End. Or you can stay on the West end someplace and get better diving if you pick an op that mostly does the North Wall (instead of the West wall.) Lately we have been staying at Cobalt Coast which is on the northwest corner and away from Seven Mile Beach, diving with the op there Divetech. Very nice place to stay, quiet and yet easy to drive to restaurants and stuff. No beach there though, but that's better for the shore diving anyway.

I've only dove on the Brac on a daytrip from Little Cayman, and had lunch at Brac Reef. It is a sister resort to LCBR but older and I though LCBR was nicer. Our dives were nice but LC was better. My sense is more people staying on the Brac want to get to LC than the other way. We met a couple on the plane once who we're splitting a week between Brac Reef and LCBR. We met them again when they got to LC and they were wishing they had just come there and skipped Brac.

Divi's one trip a week to LC is what's included in your package. You might be able to go more than once for an extra charge. I've been to LC and Brac. While diving at the Brac is very good, LC is better. We really liked the Divi and it is less expensive than Brac Reef. We did walk down the road one day to look around at the Brac Reef Resort. The facility was probably a little nicer than the Divi, but not much, and we didn't feel it would be worth the extra money. We haven't stayed on GC, just gone out for lunch and toured around when we had long layovers, but I would avoid the Seven Mile Beach area - it's way too developed for my taste. I have just been researching options for a trip in February and have been looking at places in GC, including Cobalt Coast, Sunset House, and some other well-regarded places. They all seem to be pretty expensive, so I am leaning toward a return trip to the Brac and Divi Tiara.

Divi Tiara does make two trips to LC a week, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays, and there is an extra charge (but well worth it) for the second trip if you're on a package.
My wife and I make both trips every time we go. Whatever you decide, happy bubbles!!!

A couple of weeks ago, the extra charge for additional trips was $30.

Thanks everyone for sharing me your experiences. It was very helpful. As a result, we decided to postpone the trip and forcus just to LC. It seems like it is the most worth the $ and vacation time off from work. :) We will be arrivng in LC on Aug 29th and start diving on the 30th. I hope we won't get hit bu hurricane. would you guys get trave or dive insurance?

Again, thanks a lot. I will post my trip report once I get back.
oh, does LCBR have internet connection available?

:)
