Yippee!
This will be our first real dive trip and I'm sure I don't have to tell you all that we are looking forward to this MUCH needed vacation!
We'll be staying at the Brac Reef for a week of pure bliss, March11-18.

Anyone going to be there, too? Maybe you're excited about an upcoming trip and want to share? :D Bring it on.

Heading to Little Cayman on the 25th (Atually, GCM on the 25th, and then LC on the 26th). I am so stoked, it isn't even funny. Packed all my gear yesterday, so I'll be "ready." LOL Anyone have any "must sees"?

Hi Lisa:
I'm Jelous! I don't grt to go to Cayman Brac until 4/29/06 - 5/6/06. I'll also be staying at the Brac Reef resort. Let me in on the 411 when you get back. I'm a Sales Rep from Colo, and my Sales territory used to be New England. You're in for a GREAT Time. The Diving is COMPLETELY different in the Caymans than it is on the CAPE. I've been to Grand Cayman several times and love it dearly. Be sure to try eating Conch while your there. I love it anyway I can get it (Fritters/Steak/Stew) . Neil

I'm getting to Cayman Brac ( Divi Tiara ) on the 22nd March for 8 days and then onto Grand Cayman for another week or so. Bring it on!

Must stop buying diving accessories... must stop buying diving accessories........!!

All the diving is sorted. Now just have to sort my wedding out ( GC on the 3rd April! )!

Here's a "must see" that you're probably not expecting.

On Little Cayman, make arrangements to go have dinner one night over at Pirate's Point ... the "must see" is PP's owner Gladys Howard - - and her food :D

For LC dive sites, I tend to like Mixing Bowl a lot, since I have a personal route that takes me away from most of the other divers. Most people go straight off the wall from the mooring, with many of them turning left (west). I'll strike out to the East without going off the wall to get to the miniwall in front of the dive site, then descend down that to the Jackson's Bight sandflats, and then an immediate left into the coral and down through a nice swim-through - - be careful as the bottom of this one is 140+fsw, so you have to pay attention to stay up to the nominal 100fsw max. Exiting, another turn right ot the east to swim along the wall at the Jackson's Bight wall area. You might spot a nice big elephant ear that's below you along here. Bring it up through another swim-through (tight) and then along the top & sand flats to return to the miniwall. Make a sweep to the right towards the drop-off, but keep it shallow and peek into the barrel sponges where there's sometimes lobster. If you're doing good on air, continue along the main wall face now that most everyone else has done it and gone elsewhere. Hook up to the top whenever you feel like it, searching for the turtles and a supermale midnight parrotfish that hangs out in this area, and make this loop back to the boat for navigation check. From here, begin doing "flower petal" loops (with compass bearings!) out & back from here up into the shallows & hardpan as your safety stop until you're down to 500psi. Then back to the boat and out.
