Is there a Cavern and/or Intro. to Cave Course (padi or other) offered in our region of the U.S.?

Unfortunately, without a regional cavern or cave system available for diving that makes training harder.

I have heard of training opportunities in Florida and down in Mexico but nothing in the area.

I'd opt for a Week in either Playa MX, or FL. FL maybe better as it maybe easier to find a recommended instructor (important). I have not done this, but know several who have trained in the FL springs area.

Make sure you have your gear situation covered per recommended configuration. I know of a couple of divers who ended up spending a bundle on rental and purchases because they did not do their homework, and needed mad STUFF. The LDS's at the springs area in N. FL are NOT budget outlets, but not outrageous either! :D

Naui, Padi (?) NACD, NSS-CDS all have cavern to cave courses. Florida has a number of resident instructors, I can not speak for MX, never been there,

I've taken cave diving instruction in both NFL and Mexico and found the quality of instruction is very good in both places. Cavern will usually be taught by a Cave instructor (recommended) and all of the cave instructors I've met are very serious about their instruction.

Bear in mind that you can do cavern in regular recreational gear but to do intro cave you would need to buy/rent new gear. (At the very least a long hose,H/Y valve and another first stage reg)
