SM from the beginning will be more common now that there are more sidemount capable instructors.

Besides, my point is that other agencies instructors can AND DO produce excellent divers, even in BM.

Florida caves can go up and down too ya know?... :p I'm not sure why all you MX lovers think they're all deep high flowing trunks, but whatever.

If I have a right post failure and an 'unconscious' buddy(read as drowned - unless we are at the beginning) fate is out to get me. This is an unrealistic scenario IMO.

they're all deep dark scary raging firehoses

I did not mean to imply that Florida caves don't go up and down . . . sigh . . . but for those of you who aren't FAMILIAR with Mexico, I wanted to be clear that the Mexican caves often have very large depth swings within any given dive. That's all.

we get sensitive about our caves :p
you can't even see the mexico caves with all those silly formations in the way :D

While I've only been in about 1/2 dozen Mexican caves or so, I don't recall very large depth swings. It could just be the caves I've been in. However, I've been in N. Florida caves that do have significant depth swings.

Jackson Blue - 45 ft, 97 ft, 80 ft, 97 ft, 80 ft, 65 ft, 85 ft, 65 ft, 90 ft...That's just the first couple thousand feet. Try doing all that in 12 minutes like I did Wednesday night on the Magnus!!

Hole in the Wall - 40 ft, 85 ft, 30 ft, 85 ft, 60 ft, 25 ft or 100 ft (depending on which way you go)

Bozell - 50 ft, 25 ft, 50 ft, 25 ft, 50 ft, 120 ft, 150 ft...

The Peacock System, especially Orange Grove side has lots of fluctuations.

I could go on, but you get the idea.

indian has some pretty significant swings. from like 50 to 300 depending on the dive you do there :p
alachua as well. lots of ups and downs

Manatee is annoying as can be with it's ups and downs...
