DiverBuoy,

I guess as I go along, and consider adding an 'Atlantic Region', is there other areas that should be considered other then Bermuda as a hot diving locale in the Atlantic?

I think that Turks and Caicos would actually be the Atlantic.

I would consider the islands as part of the Caribbean, but would probably look in Mexico/Honduras or Caribbean to find information about them.

I suspect that anyone not familiar with these locations who is looking for a dive vacation (hmmm, someone looking for a dive vacation who doesn't know about Cozumel?) would probably look for destinations in the Caribbean, and would therefore overlook some spectacular locations if they were only listed under "Mexico" or "Central America".

If you are looking for Atlantic dive sites, Ive never been, but the wreck maps of Nova Scotia are huge......Have heard good things...but then, us Canadians are happy if we dont have to chop a hole before we jump in ...Hee hee

Some islands are missing:
Guadeloupe
* La Désirade
* Les Saintes
* Marie-Galante
* St. Barthelemy

Don't forget:
Culebra
Desecheo
Mona and Monita...

Re: the Bay Islands.....

I think most would search the Carribean islands first, if they did not know they were a political part of Honduras......just my humble opinion.

Regards,

Did You Forget Bonaire And Curacao (sister Islands To Aruba) In You Work. Have Not Had A Chance To Get From Aruba To Bonaire But Have Been Told It Is As Good Or Better Than Aruba. (less Traffic And Destruction)

It's Trinidad AND Tobago technically.
(I knew some good would come from watching the Olympics...)

Also, I might consider the ABC's part of South America, Bonaire is only like 60 miles from Venezuela. Most people probably wouldn't though.

If you separate out the Bay Islands, then what about Cozumel? And Ambergris, Glovers and the other Cays off Belize. I'd leave them all in Mexico/Central America.

Maybe go with an Eastern/Western Caribbean split?

There was recently a report released that the reef system in the Virgin Islands has declined by about 30% in the last two years due to runoff, nutriets, and pollution... I will have to find that article.
