Hey guys, I'm going to be in Catalina July 4th with a buddy of mine from up north. Anyone else going to be there or want to go?

I'm Ren from the Beach Crabs. I've seen you post a few times, but we have never met before. My friends and I are coming to the island for a weekend as part of a bachelor party that is going to continue on a cruise ship to Mexico. We are doing the Catalina weekend to accomidate some of the guys that can not go on the cruise do to work. I was wondering if you could make a recomendation as to what hotel to stay for the cheapest prices for these non-diving bunch of guys.

You will not find any open rooms for 4th of July weekend by this time. Feel free to try though.... you're certainly not have much of a choice between places if you actually find one.

The Hermosa is probably one of the cheaper ones (you have to share the bathroom between rooms). But yeah, good luck finding a room for this weekend.

I'll be at Casino Point, I'm on the 6:15am boat out of long beach. Look for two short asian guys and probably one tall black guy in tech gear.

Normally I would agree with the others in saying good luck finding a hotel in Avalon this weekend. However, I checked the chamber of commerce website and see there are a munber of rooms avialable. Check it out and I hope this helps you out.

So early I don't think we'll get around to casino point until at least 930-10a since we'll be sleeping on the island the night before.

Us = 5'11" hispanic guy, 5'11" chinese guy, 5'5" cute chinese girl - all late 20's.

we'll be lugging a blue one of these to sit on/store gear in:

ha ha ha, okay.. you shouldn't be too hard to find then! Both asian guys in my group will be using sthalsac catalina bags and the tall black guy in tech gear will probably be using a dive box similar to yours. He's the guy on the PADI covers so he'll be somewhat recognizable... however, he's coming separately and doing tech dives so we may not necessarily be next to him.

Are you just doing 2-3 dives and come back the same day, right? I may be interested in going with you guys. Are you renting tank and weight there or are you bring your own?
