I have about 30 dives in 3 years. I am looking for dive advice; shop, to boat or shore dive, guides, gear i should bring with me most of the dives include gear mostly i just need air and weights
Thanks in advance

I would start HERE. Then tell us when you will be here to dive. There are so many choices its hard to make blanket recommendations.

Also, share a little about you and your gear: Were any of your dives in cold water? Have you dove (dived?) kelp before? What kind of exposure protection do you have (3 mil won't cut it at 56 degrees), etc. So Cal has a great bunch of divers and you will get loads of great advice.

I have a few cold dives in fresh water lakes. If i bring all my gear it is Zeagle Zues a 3 farmer john jacket and a 5 coverall hood gloves. Scuba pro reg Oceianic VEO NX computer. I hav ea dive buddy in LA but I do not know his stuff but he is a SoCal diver. Looking around MArch 25th really only want to spend one day diving and what not. The SandDiver trip on the 27th looks good and economical.

Although SCUBA Luv is my fav shop, and Dave has mentioned CDS as well, Dive Catalina (Ron Moore) is also on the island. Check out the Catalina sticky that Merxlin linked to for detailed info.

Oops! I forgot about Ron's shop!

Gear dive advice now!
I have a 5mill john and a 3 mill jacket
I do not want to be to cold any advice?
