Gear dive advice now!
I have a 5mill john and a 3 mill jacket
I do not want to be to cold any advice?

You don't want to be cold? That's easy:

Dry suit
Dry gloves
400g Thinsulate undergarment
Thick socks and glove liners
12mm Otter Bay hood
Heated vest

Water is running 56-57 degrees right now, and will probably not warm up any soon. Without knowing what temps are like for you and how easily you get cold, I'd see about renting a 7mil at the very least, and make sure you have good gloves and a hood.

As of 5th & 6th Mar 2011, Catalina water is pretty cold. 54-F on surface and 50-F at 50-ft.
