This tank is for sale locally. The owner thought it was a steel tank, but being Catalina it is aluminum.
Other than it being very pink, is it worth the trouble? The seller said he bought it 18 years ago and I don't think it has been inspected since.

A lot of diveshops won't fill AL tanks made before 1990. I have run into a couple with a 20 year old tank limit.

I have two Catalina 100's that were given to me for free and I still hate 'em! Too tall & cumbersome to carry in for an air fill, and in the picture above it feels like a telephone pole mounted on my back when single tank diving. Would rather have the shorter HP Steel 100 and take off 4 to 5 lbs of lead on the weightbelt.

I've got an h-valved Cat100 I use for single tank dry suit diving. My singles plate is -16# (DSS w/ weight plates), so I can dive it w/o any more extra weight. I can't say i use it much. Other than that, it is a transfill tank for my small lp tanks or for bumping a pony or suit bottle.... Not my favorite tank...... At 6'7", it's not a length issue, but, well, it's just nowhere as nice as a 3442 steel 100.....
