Cat p***ed on my BC

OK, I left my BC outside last night and the neighour's cat pee'd on it and it now stinks.

I have washed it several times in mild soapy water but it still stinks. What else can I use on it?

Try something that neutralizes amonia. Maybe baking soda and water. Just a guess.

Try using Mirezyme (check the spelling), they sell it at you LDS for cleaning your wet suit after you've done the same thing to it while in the water. As they say, there are those that have and those that will.

Cat urine has a lot of amonia in it. Mirezyme may not cut it, but worth a try.

good luck!! I have a bag that has been peed on and it still has the odor.
I think my cure would be to just shoot the cat...here kitty kitty.

LOL, that's funny. Marking territory I suppose.
Try soaking in simple green, 1 part to about 10 parts water. I use it on my freediving suit after 5 or 6 hours in the water, It should break up and neutralize the ammonia. It's also a very good rinse for the rest of your gear.

If that doesn't work, go get some Rapidyne, one capful to 5 gallons of water, That'll do it for sure. It's what many scuba shops use on their rental suits. Just don't soak too long, it will turn it orange.

Use the same thing used for skunk pee... plain old white vinegar.
I had a comforter (king size - expensive) that got blasted & it took 2 rounds in a wash machine w/a gallon each time but the thing came out good after the second round.
I imagine an overnight soak in the bathtub would work well.

I had a mouse nest inside a drysuit once, they not only peed all over but chewed almost all the way through the fabric in a 3" spot. Imagine my suprise ...:11:
A buddy of mine wound up putting his wetsuit away with a mouse in it, a couple weeks later things were BAD.

And get an enzyme cleaner.
Nature's Miracle is one brand but is usually the most expensive.
All of them work.

I have cats, some would say the cats have me but what the hey.

Alternately you can just ask the neighbor to replace the BC and restrain the cat.

Try Fabreeze, its in the supermarkets, it worked good on my car seats. I have a suzuki jeep, and when I visit friends, the neighborhood cats used to get it. I considered leaving mouse traps all over the seats but instead leave foot long pieces of that wide clear packing tape on the seats, sticky side up. In the morning some of the tape is gone or wadded up but no pee --so far. If I only could get some of that old time fly paper that came in sheets.
