Dr. Bill - We thought we'd keep a surprise ;) Just kidding....sounds like you got the info from the rest of the gang. Just a small group of SBer's this time.

Thanks for the update on the local conditions. You know we all appreciate that info.

From South Orange County, it will be Kara ("eyasha") and myself. My boyfriend can't go now, as he's gotta fly on Sunday morning.

See ya'll on Sat!

I think I just found out that my possible dive buddy for Sat is not coming so I may end up on the King Neptune instead of at the park. Only time will tell.

If I don't make it, I wish everyone who does great dives!

Anyone free this weekend and interested in hitting Casino Point? I'm antsy to get some nice viz. before heading off to La Paz. Anyone game - early 6:15 am boat over and 6ish PM boat back? Who's game?

We have a group of 6 coming over on the Dana Point Catalina Express. Leaves at 7:15 and arrives 8:30-ish. . Maybe we'll see you there.

I'm coming over on the 7:00 from Pedro. Going back on the 5:15. Maybe on the 3:00 if I get bored. Hopefully not!

Schlep the Waterheater, or rent a 72 and add another 6 or 8 pounds... decisions, decisions.

PS: There is still room on the Pedro boats (7:00 & 8:50 departure, and 3:00 & 5:15 returns) The LB 6:15 departure has room, and there is Lionel Richie seating only on the 8:30 departure. The 3:45 and 6:00 returns both have room...

Lionel Richie is the only way to go. Good one Ken!

Thought I'd head down to the Park today to see what conditions were like and report them to you. Mind you I didn't actually dive myself. I asked Vicki, one of my occasional buddies what things were like as she surfaced from a double intro.

Hurricane force winds, 10-12 foot tidal surge, 2-4 ft visibility at best. Oh, wait a minute... she was talking about the Texas coast.

I was surprised to see there was a good swell coming in the harbor as I walked to the Park (it was high tide). Once I got there it appeared there was also a current. Vicki said conditions weren't good. Neither of us could figure out why. I don't remember hearing about a hurricane off Baja. There were winds yesterday and today.

Hopefully things will settle down by tomorrow morning and "all y'all" (just ask Tony Baloney at Antonio's what that means) have some goodd iving. I am going out on the King Neptune (unless I oversleep) since it is booked by a wedding party Sunday and I'll have to dive the Park then.

Hope everyone has a great time! Sorry I'll miss you.

Dr. Bill

Always good to bump into you at the park Dr. Bill. I enjoyed the brief conversation at the top of the stairs in the morning.

We got 3 dives in. Explored mostly the eastern end of the park, and were rewarded by spending time with the largest sheephead I have ever seen, I mean it was 'UGE! Aside from that, conditions were good: 20-30ft vis, 61°F Suunto at 110', noticable surge only near the shore, which facilitated exiting quite nicely.

Sorry I didn't run into any of the other SB members while we were there. Maybe next time our group will go over on the LB boat vs. the Dana Point boat, and hook up with y'all.

Later.......

I just wanted to say a big "Thank You" to all of the great folks I met today out at Casino Point. You guys are awesome! I had a great time getting my introduction to Kelp diving. Hopefully we can do it again in the near future.
