Whenever is best for you... ill probably be doing 3-5 dives this weekend, so just pick a time....


Also, I am planning on taking the EARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRLY boat out to Catalina.... no point in wasting any time on this day...

I want to do a 7 or 8ish dive and maybe a 10 or 11ish dive on sat. I am thinking N crescent or Crystal cove. Are you down? Also phil and aaron...you guys want to go?

Where in the H-E-double hockey sticks is crystal cove? ive never heard of it.... What would be fun would be to do the 7 or 8 ish dive at crescent, and the 10-11ish dive at deadmans.... that is one hell of a dive at night, let me tell you.... how close is sport chalet to there? I will have to take my tank to get refilled inbetween....

Crystal cove is a state park about 4 miles from laguna, before you get to corona del mar. It supposedly is a really nice dive, with about 350 less people than shaws
If we do both at crescent though we should do deadmans first, since its the deep dive. (60 ft)

I'm sliding over to the "Wait&See" category :lurk_2: , as the viz reports from the dive park were dismal this weekend. (I've had my fill of beef-barley-soup viz in the algae bloom layer. One of the good parts of today's rescue-class pool session was being in water I could actually see through.....sad....) The 23rd/24th could be a great weekend for :sunnykayaking:yinyang: ... or diving, if the visibility improves :51: .

Ill be there 100%... because regardless of how bad they say conditions are, its still better than laguna on a good day...

Unless something intervenes, I'll be there. Good thing it wasn't this weekend. The Avalon Fire Dept. tried to close the Dive Park at 3:00 PM Sat due to a film crew exploding fireworks over the park waters. Fortunately they granted an extension until 5:00 PM, but it still disrupted classes that were scheduled to do night dives. Almost no one in Avalon was notified of this "event" and I heard kids screaming that we were being invaded by terrorists when the first bursts went off.

Vis yesterday was less than spectacular (15' but with particulates that made the vis for video much lower). I didn't even try today, but a few divers said it had improved somewhat over yesterday.
