There are actually four large male sheephead in the park. Most people only see one on a dive, but I've had all four swim past me in a line. I couldn't believe it.

We have relatively few nudibranchs at this warmer end of the island. In general around the island I usually don't see them until I'm in deeper depths > 80 ft or so. You can find them along the edges of the big holes in the hull of the Suejac at the harbor end of the park.

I've done at least 1,000 dives in the park alone and still enjoy it.

Oh, if the large schools of baitfish were a silvery to greenish color and had a black spot on their gill covers, they were probably jack mackerel.

I almost forgot how much I enjoy diving Casino Point....thanks for the pics and reminding me! I definitely need an excuse to get out there again soon.

BTW, Frank, your underwater photography is very good. I'm impressed with how good your buoyancy must be to be able to capture that quality of pictures when you're a pretty new diver. Great work! Keep it up and keep posting your pics so we can enjoy them :D

Very nice pictures, indeed! The next to the last one really captures, to me, how beautiful and interesting diving in the kelp forest is.

I'm looking forward to getting back to SoCal in June -- thanks for whetting my appetite!

It was really nice diving at Casino Point on Wednesday.

I still marvel at how the internet has connected and invigorated the diving world. I have only met SoCal divers through the internet before visiting and meeting them in person. I was able to plan a trip as a single diver and meet up with quality local divers and have a great time.

Dave, Frank and Charlie were a lot of fun to dive with and to talk with during surface intervals and on the ride over and back. I just love diving and the diving community. It's not just the exploration of an alien world at our feet, but it's the shared experienced between divers who often have no other reason to get to know each other. I don't think that I'll ever stop learning about diving or divers.

Here's my photo contribution from the trip:

Frank,

Thanks for the post. Some buddies and I are going at the end of the month. Thanks to your photos I wish it was a lot sooner.

What camera were you using? I wish I could get photos with the quality of yours. I guess I'm not much of a photographer.

Thanks again,

Craiger

Frank,
What camera were you using?

I'm currently using a Canon Powershot G10 with Ikelite housing. No strobe for the moment, only natural light and internal flash with diffuser attached. Its my second camera since starting diving and with the manual controls on the G10, you can really fine tune your shot. Thanks for the praise:D

I totally agree Oren, it blows me away how connected California divers are as a community. I am still a new diver, and it feels great to be a part of the team. Both you and Dave were a blast to hang out with. It was a great day to be wet and alive. Anytime you decide to come back down from the North Coast for a "tropical" So Cal dive, you know have buddies to dive with.
How did you're Vet's night dive go? And Dave, you need to get up here and dive PV with us when Marineland opens up again. I will PM you when it does. I am looking forward to diving and debriefing with both of you guys again.
