Many of the newer point and shoot cameras have a very short shutter lag. I have the Sea&Sea DX-1G and have never had a problem with shutter lag. What I see in my lcd screen is what I get in the picture. If I am shooting a moving object, like a shark, I just make sure that my shutter speed is fast enough to capture the image without any blurring. I have never had to "lead" a subject to take a pic.
