Good Morning!

I am looking for a Carry On specifically made for my Scuba Gear. Right now I store all of my gear in another carry on piece of lugage but the bag itself is heavy.. I would really love to have a carry on specifically made for scuba gear that I can carry on the plane when traveling..

I have been looking at this one

Aqualung Departure Carry-On Bag Blue/Black

and also the SubGear Carry On. but I am open to any suggestions you all have.)

The pack is a BC?... Well I do have my own BC already. ScubaPro LadyHawk with an Air 2.

That Aqualung bag doesn't appear to have any scuba specific features beyond an Aqualung label. I suspect the same is true for the Subgear bag but I don't see much for details about it. Any legal size carryon bag from a non-scuba brand will do the same job (with the possible advantage of not advertising the contents of the bag.) The key is just finding one that's more of an empty container instead of taking up too much space/weight with all sorts of dividers and compartments and crap as many do. A couple years ago I bought a "High Sierra" rollaboard at TJMaxx which is perfect.

But if you are really trying to get all your dive gear (including BC and fins) into a regular carryon it may be challenging if you haven't already chosen BC and fins with bulk and length in mind. The question is, why do you want to do this? I know some people try to. But if you wind up on a small plane, or are on one of the many non-US carriers that has much stricter limits on carryons - which will likely happen often enough if you travel much to dive - you'll be checking it anyway. And otherwise, checking gear is simply not a problem. (I do what I think is most common, which is to carry on mask/reg/computer along with other stuff it's useful to have in carryon, and check all the other stuff.)

The Divecaddy is the only really dive-specific carryon I've heard of meant to carry a full set of regular gear, and there's been a number of threads discussing it here you could search for. I haven't heard stories people of having trouble carrying it on, though the only ones I've actually seen people with in person in the airport were definitely not of legal carry-on size. And they don't have wheels.

I have traveled half the world with the Auqualung Departure, it's great. It's light, a little deeper than most carry-ons, and fits in the overhead bin like a glove. There are no scuba gear specific features built in, but is great. I pack reg, mask, DSLR camera rig, surrounded by socks, undies, shirts. All the essentials go in the cabin with me.

For carry on, you don't need to bother with a "scuba" labeled bag. I have one similar to this eBags Mother Lode TLS Mini 21" Wheeled Duffel - eBags.com. Mine is probably an earlier version. I pack my backplate, wing, can-light, mask and a some clothes with no problem. Quality is good and it fits as it should in the overhead compartments. I carry my reg in my laptop bag. Fins and wetsuit go in my checked bag.

I could put my fins in my checked luggage.. But I dont care to put my $800 BC in my checked.. Id rather keep it on me at all times.. I just knowtoo many ppl to have their luggage lost and/or stolen and I dont want to take any chances..

Are you able to fit you BC as well? Right now I have a regular carry on where all my things are stored, but the bag seems to tip forward from the weight.. And Parz.. That is a nice looking bag.. Im honestly not picky about a bag.. But I want one that all my stuff can fit in and be with me while traveling.. And not tipping over or being a hassle to lug around.
