The past week has been a rough one for inhabitants of the North Carribbean, BVI, USVI, P. Rico etc. Some places on P. Rico had up to 25 inces of rain in the past 6 days. BVI had 16 inches. Flooding and washouts are common. I know after 4 years of drought like conditions the damage is close to that experienced by a Cat. 3 hurricane. My hopes and prayers are with the folks fighting the weather and I hope the rain stops soon.

Thanks for the good thoughts. We're just a bit damp down here, but the cisterns are full. As the saying goes the only one who doesn't like the rain is the water man.
Any damage, doesn't even come close to a cat 3 (thank god). We've had a few back roads washed out but they've been repaired quickly.

The diving has still been good, with the seas flat. Viz at some close to shore sights has been some what affected but with the now flat seas some sights not often dived are great!

But more majorly inconvenienced than damaged. And best of all, the diving didn't take too big a hit to the normally good vis.

Welcome Chris, I thought I was the only V Islander on the board, good to have some company. Done any diving here on the big island yet?

Hi
We were stuck in St Maartan for two days on the Caribbean Explorer II because of the weather and 20ft waves. We definitely did some rock and rolling. Flooding on the island kept us from even getting to the casinos.

Happy and Safe Diving

...three weeks ago, the weather started turning nasty, and it's been that way ever since. I feel for the poor ba$&@rds who had to suffer through lousy diving and not much else to do.:sharks:

And now there's a post-season tropical storm!
