It seems to be a bumper year.../ baby it's the start of a piscian baby boom!
I've heard some people speculate that it's related to the bumper crop of nutrients in the water that stayed so green so long last year. But, that's more than a year ago now. Would the effect be showing up now?
 
Capybara/Slingshot - I guess you will just have to make reservations to return to the island. Sorry about the weather; fortunately winter storms don't last that long. Great picture of the waves crashing inside Avalon harbor.
 
FrankO- Re: the nutrient issue, that is a good point. It would depend on the species... how long they take to become sexually mature. For fish requiring a year of growth to maturity, this would make a lot of sense. For those maturing over longer periods, it will take a while to see the impact. For those already sexually mature, the extra nutrients (and therefore food) last year might also create a pulse this year.
