Can't Thank Older Posts

I just noticed that posts that are more than a few days old do not have a Thanks button at the bottom of each post.

1) is this a feature or a bug?

2) if this is a feature, what are the criteria, and rationale for implementing.

You have to go back in time and give thanks.

You get a few days to thank a post... 5, I think. Works so far and we are always tweaking things to improve performance.

So it must be a "feature" instead of a glitch.

"Works so far" must depend on your definition of "works." Doesn't work too well for coming back from a vacation and catching up, or for a newly discovered thread that has been around for more than the 5 or so days.

I'm not a fan of the change, but I will adapt. Just don't "improve" things too much, please.
