Well since I don't have a drysuit it is still a couple months until diving season for me.

The wait is driving me crazy

Am I the only one?

I'm diving dry but my wife (wet only) is waiting patiently for a few upcoming trips.

I have had buddies make mid winter wet dives, I did one last march in 40F water just for the heck of it. With a good wetsuit it is not hopeless. The right dive on the right day is the trick.

With storms and the limited buddy pool in the winter I shoot for a dive a month. Dec and Jan were 2 each. Heaven knows I have plenty of other stuff I should be getting caught up on.

Pete

I have a dry suit also and will finally try Ice Diving in a couple of weeks.

You have ice for that in Philly? Many instructors here in Maine have canceled for lack of thick ice.

Actually I have a drysuit and after the pain my hands went thru today from getting the ice and snow off the car Im waiting for late March or April. Maybe Ide dive on a warm day but the dives for me would be too short and painful.

So no youre not the only one there.

Well I'm considering the 24/25th to hit cape ann. Mainly depends on the weather.

I dove all last winter wet. I have a 1.5mm skin, 7mm full suit, and 7mm hooded vest. Dont forget the neoprene socks under the boots too! That's a lot of neoprene!

It is totally doable, more depends on what's happening topside as Pete said. If you get a sunny, no wind day....sweet. If it's very cold and windy....not fun. Stripping in the parking lot is the killer.

That all said, my last 2 dives were in FL (gulf side), bottom temps @70' were 63F and I got cold fast.:11:
