So I bought this Poseidon PT400 for a bargain of the local fire department. Only has 250hr on it and works fine but I cannot for the life of me find any info, spare part list or manual for it.
Tried emailing Poseidon and they told me to contact Bauer, Bauer told me to reach out to Poseidon so that’s not really helpful.
Side plate says,
Poseidon PT400
1986
330 bar
11kw
Googling this yields no info.
They questions I have about it is,
Can I run it on one of the two compressor units running in parallel by just removing one of the v-belts?
Where can I find a manual?
Is it normal for the oil level in the sight glass to drop under 100bar and then start to rise over nominal when the pressure goes over 150bar?
I can’t even find a picture with a unit resembling mine so if anyone can tell me anything that would really help!

It's a 40 year old obsolete duplex compressor. I'm surprised they even replied to your enquiry is about as helpful as its going to get for you.

Save to say if you remove only the belt on one of the blocks you may also consider removing the power to its motor as well.

As for the blocks if they are each old PT/PE 200 blocks (and PT400 being a pair) look for a data plate on each of the blocks not the model plate on the frame. Although the model is discontinued but the individual blocks may still have parts available

It is a Bauer compressor. Many years ago Bauer had some cheaper versions, they called them Poseidon. This has nothing to do with Poseidon Sweden.

Today Bauer does not call them Poseidon anymore but PE-version.

The information you got from Bauer was wrong. Probably a younger person which did not know about Bauer-Poseidon. I recommend to ask Bauer once again, they are very helpful.

Depending on your willingness to modify, the low hours running, the lack of available spare parts and the low cost you paid for this duplex build I would consider carefully the cost to break down the block and the motor. You won't need that 3 phase 11 Kw motor running a single block and its an option to lower the running cost if you keep it together with selling the no longer required block on a simple baseplate or frame together with the motor separately or simply keeping the block as a spare if you consider using it yourself

You could also consider selling the single block and or the motor and or frame for the price you paid for the whole build and in effect leaving you with a free left over compressor project already paid for.

Break down the company `(compressor) for parts. Sell the company parts you don't need for a profit on your initial investment and walk away with everything paid for and a small half size but free compressor.

Sell that separated now single cut down company (sorry compressor) for the same price you paid for the duplex to some unsuspecting scuba diver and you walk away with double your money.

At least now you know why you don't see many duplex builds in our little scuba world.

Then you have what to do with those aluminium filter towers (four off) they need to be scrapped.
They are made from an old spec HF30TF Aluminium material and the wall thickness is a tad on the thin side for our modern heath and safety and European bureaucrats. They were also made (in the UK) for a breathing air standard known back then as BS4001 now long been replaced with BS 12021. So add to your cost estimate replacing each pair with a single long wall mounted 800mm 33 inch tower or even a new Bauer type P60 tower cost you about £800 each new trade price. Also add for new relief valves a back pressure regulator hoses connecting and tube fittings.

Probably a younger person which did not know about Bauer-Poseidon.
Maybe for the best to leave it to that younger person. They were very polite respectful are above all diplomatic. They clearly haven't been told and therefore clearly don't know.

Alternatively you can ask the British but you won't like the answers
