Canon A620 or OLY Sp-310

So I have narrowed it down to 2 cameras. The Canon A620 or the Oly SP-310. Anybody have any advice or insight. Both seem to be pretty good. I am new to digital photography, but have done a fair amount of research.

The OLY used and XD card while the Canon used an SD card. Does one card have an advantage over the other?

Tagging along to the thread here, is the Oly SP-310 the successor to the venerable C5050??

Check out this thread on the Oly Sp-350 I think it's basically the same as the Sp-310 with an additional megapixel.
