We will be at The Royal Cancun in Sept with a group on NON DIVERS, my husband and I intend to dive on Friday and Saturday. My husband has been diving for 30 years, these will be my first dives after my open water certification, which I did in COOOOLD AND MURKY Beaver Lake in North Arkansas.

As you can imagine, I am ALOT EXCITED and a little nervous. My husband is all about diving to my comfort level, any suggestions on sites and dive operators. I really want to dive with a shop that does not run us through like cattle, and I would be willing to pay a little more to have a great first experience.

Any suggestions.

Thanks, I am excited to be an official part of the SB community after reading threads for the last few weeks.

Definitely contact Ben at Maya Aqua Divers! MAD is a wonderful operation and they make divers at all levels feel safe and comfortable. They give great personalized service and their prices are very reasonable. My husband and I have dived with them two years in a row and we'll definitely use MAD anytime we're in Cancun. You won't find a better dive shop in Cancun!

Man, it'll will be a shock when you can see a 100ft in any direction. I got certified in Cancun, and had to relearn to dive up here. You will do fine. Drifting along with the current, stopping to look at different creatures. It is the laziest and best way to dive!!

I second MAD. You're dive experience with be excellent. Your husband will find dives in his league. I would highly suggest hitting the cenotes at least once. Although, not if you do not have very good bouyancy skills.

Enjoy!!!!
