How much did you pay per cenote dive? Was that with or without gear?
$160 USD for 2 dives. It includes all gear and transportation. It does not include entrance and camera fees. The last two dives I did were at Angelita and Car Wash and the combined entrance fee was 650 pesos

650 pesos is $35 us. Is that per day or per week?
That is just for the day (assuming you do 2 cenote dives). It is the sum of the total entrance fees that I paid for my one day diving with them. You pay the owners/operators of the cenotes directly in cash when you arrive. Entrance fees vary by cenotes and the dive operator will tell you how much cash you need to bring with you depending on the cenotes you dive that day. Forgot to mention...the $160 also includes drinks/snacks and a modest sandwich lunch.

I think it was around 190 for 2 dives with gear. Yes, it is expensive! If you can afford, I would suggest professional video in Dos Ojos.

Hi all,

Like v g, I've also gotten really confused and would love some advice. I am planning a 2ish week trip in August to Mexico with the intention of diving in Cozumel and Tulum. I'm having a hard time figuring out an itinerary.
Here are some questions -

- Is August a good time for diving in these areas?
- How much time should I plan for Cozumel diving vs Tulum?
- Any other diving spots to keep in mind around that area?
- What are good areas to stay in Cozumel and in Tulum?
- I like diving with eco-friendly dive centers (have come across some horrible ones which will poke octopus etc. to get them to come out, even pick up critters, want to fully AVOID those kinds). Any recommendations?
- In those areas, is vegetarian food available? I don't eat any meat, including seafood.

I'm only going for about 16 days and will be working remotely for a few days in there. Because it's a short time, I don't want to stay in more than 2 areas. Ideally, I'd like to stay in an airbnb or similar rental so I have access to a kitchenette
