Has anyone been to Canauan Island? I might be going there in the end of January / beginning of February and wanted to know anyone's experiences on the diving there and how the island itself is. Like is it safe and how the beaches are etc...
Thanks,
Mike

We are thinking about going there next spring... I know it's along way off but... Did you end up going to Canouan Island? I was just wondering about the diving. My husband wants to go for the golf.

I have been to Canouan island. We went last January and stayed at the Tamarind Resort and Yacht club. It has a beautiful setting, and makes for a peaceful choice. Not to mention the PADI dive shop next to the yacht club :) :)
I loved it so much that I am going back in November and will be helping out at the dive shop! If you like something a bit busier (and more expensive?), there is a Raffles resort on the island, which is a brief drive from Tamarind and has a casino, I believe! The rest of the island is completely undeveloped...an undiscovered jewel I would say!

It's in the Lesser Antilles, specifically part of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Think Eastern Caribbean/Atlantic, but south almost to South America. Trump built a golf course there and there's a couple of resorts, otherwise it's pretty peaceful and quiet.
