Hello, I am currently planning a dive trip to the Visayas in the Philippines for Summer 2025. I really want to check out Cabilao Island off of Bohol since there are supposedly beautiful stony corals (Acropora (including staghorn), porites, etc.) there. However, all of the photos/videos I find are before 2021 & Odette. Has anyone gone to Cabilao recently in the past year (2024ish) and seen if/how the stony corals have recovered? Any information is appreciated. :)

I will be interested in following this thread, too, as we really liked diving in Cabilao, and tried to book a return trip there for this spring. The property we stayed at last time never responded to our emails. Another Cabilao dive property is rumored to have closed due to Odette damage in 2021. But, I heard this from a different dive resort owner in another Philippines location, so who knows? I have not found many recent reports of diving from Cabilao.

I certainly hope that the beautiful corals there are still in good shape, and that the properties are doing well. Cabilao had both healthy corals with walls, and good snorkeling and easy shallows diving for macro subjects.
