As a follow-up I just wanted to jot down a few things. A few weeks back my wife and I went to the Thousand Islands area for a couple days, after a couple days in Ottawa. We stayed in Alex Bay, just a stone's throw from the Scuba Park. I explored around the Park and off the wly tip of Casino Island. Impressed with how quickly you can get to depth just off-shore. Was not impressed with the viz - 30 - 40' . I was hoping for better - though it beats my normal haunts. That's the main reason I went there - to see if there was really 80 - 100' viz. Apparently the spring and fall is when the viz is better, as it is in my home area. The second day I went out with Moe Hunt and his daughter, as pilot, and did a couple dives on the Keystorm with another couple. First dive 110' and second was 90. Viz was again 30-40', not much current to contend with though you can't stop finning or you will slowly drift away. I really enjoy that wreck. I am definately going back - hopefully in October before the shops close for the season. I have a question for Steve and it may be better served through email. I have checked out your company's web site. Do you do training on your own or for the company? How do I get info on what you have to offer in Thousand Islands and also in the Maine area? I have people here [tech divers] interested in wreck penetration dives -not classes. Can you send me some info? I would recommend the area as a dive destination but I would make arrangements with the dive shops before you go. Don't just show up like I did and try to find these places. They have strange hours and I think a lot of them have to work another job to support themselves. Make your charters well in advance. It's a nice area and is not really a resort area like we think of when we hear the word.
