Hey there,

Is it OK to mix and match the following.

Cressi sub Octo and gauge with a Poseidon 1st and 2nd stage{DIN connection with A Clamp adaptor}..................I'm looking at retiring my Cressi 1st and 2nd stage to my pony bottle and upgrading the rest bit by bit. I've also been looking at the Atomic range of regs as well but not fully commited to them due to the switches and dials............where as I like it plain and simple like the Poseidon jetstream is :eyebrow:

Can anyone see any MAJOR flaws in my master plan ??????

Most of the regulators have IP (intermediate pressure, delivered by first stage to second stage & octo) somewhere in neighborhood of ~10 Bars (~150 psi)

But Poseidon is one of the exceptions, so your Cressi octo might be not very happy with what it’s being fed. Details depend on particular models.

None except that if you go for Poseidon (great regs, I have used them) you should just double check your decision. They are sometimes hard to service, and as lemonade pointed out there compatability with other systems is nil, next to the oceanic omega 2 and other servos...

You should be able to drop any octo onto a new poseidon... (new within the last 15 years or so) as their IP is pretty close to everyone elses now. Worst case you tweak the adjustment on your octo a bit - and you'll probably find that will not be necessary.

I don't kno that this is completely true due to the difference in IP. IF you do however choose to degrade the performance and reliability of you octo, you would want to do it at a supply pressure of 300psi or so as that is when the poseidons are at their highest IP. This will prevent any trickle surprises toward the end of your dive. The IP increases as tank pressure decreases. At the highest I think that the Jeststream is at about 160-170 psi. as compared to Mares 140

I think that the only exception is the new Xtsream, with a pressure of about 130 psi not the Jetstream.
