Only if you smuggle them in. Not as hard as it sounds.

Hint: Don't put it in your checked luggage.

It's not really a quality/safety issue, it's more of an economic embargo in disguise.

From what I remember you were not aloud to board the plane with a Mc Donalds burger much less prime rib.

Why would you want to???

Ex-pat Americans will swap you a week's lodging for a Prime Rib.

We used to bring down hard frozen Pizza Uno (the real Chicago stuff, not the garbage that they're palming off on the rest of the US), 48 quart Igloo coolers packed with White Castle Double Cheesburgers, Slabs of South Side Chicago (Tropical Hut) Cold Smoke ribs... and more!

Remember that M*A*S*H episode where Hawkeye ordered those ribs?

When you have the jones, nothing else will do.

I heard at the airport they have around 30 Huge K9, would love to get a huge chunk of the meat:jawsdown:

You can bring whatever you want, as long as they don't open your bags, and if they do, make sure you have some $$ to give or a gift.

This is a good question as I'm planning a Thanksgiving trip with a group of friends and we plan to come in with a 20 lb. frozen turkey. If the OP is successful with his meat smuggling, I hope he/she reports back.

How do you do this? When I claimed my bags I had to put everything including my carry-on backpack through the customs xray machine. If you had meat in a carry on would they not find it there also?

Xrays are done to find any weapons in your bags.... to be safe follow the laws....I have many friends who brought around 30lbs of frozen meat and it was ok......but again what if....

The x-ray machine does not see what is under your shirt or a light jacket now does it? I have watched their security going into Roatan, it's a joke. Last year I put my carry on through the x-ray machine and watched it myself since nobody was there. They say it has to go through, so it did!

Later, Hawk.
