It's original use was a emergency escape breathing air tank for shipboard emergencies but it's got all the right stamps .. (Just needs a hydro).
What do you guys think?
TC-3ALM207. Good in Canada!
DOT-3AL3000
NN53588
Luxfer 11A04

So I know it's a 3000psi tank just not sure about its cuft ...

Think I could get this tank a hydro and a nice valve and use it for my pony? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1450201221.375291.jpg

Waht are the tank dimensions...diameter, height (bottom to top of neck)?
No other markings on the tank?
What is the marking on the valve, esp the burst disk?

Can you get a regulator on it? I live in the same town and my advice, check craigslist -eventually someone will sell you a nice pony bottle for...about $50

a. it is likely too small for a pony.
b. highly unlikely it has a standard 3/4" valve thread to accept a normal scuba valve.

get an al30, much better decision

You don't think it looks like a standard 6 cuft AL bottle? That's why I asked for dimensions.
He could certainly pull the valve and just see what size it is.

Agreed, if 6 cuft,, a better pony would be 19; 13 is minimal, 30 is pretty big for normal use/air-travel.

it might be, but 6 and 13's are just too small for anything but inflation purposes in my opinion and the difference between a 19 and a 30 size wise is pretty negligible.

Here is a Luxfer chart of excape bottles.
Escape - Luxfer: Setting The Standard Worldwide
The fourth line, 9 cu ft, might be the one. Measurements would help confirm.
At 9 cu ft, it is a nice Argon bottle for suit inflation, I agree.

13 cu ft will get you to the surface from 100 ft, including a safety stop, even breathing hard. 19 gets you tow 130 ft.

If you notice, most of the cylinders in that list have thread sizes that are not compatible with scuba valves.

Not positive of the dimensions... I'll check it out at work again tomorrow. I saved this bottle from the trash when someone at work was going to trash it because it was out of its hydro date. So if it's a 9 cuft bottle it's not totally worth it then? How much does a hydro on a bottle run?

Oops. Yes, I missed the UNF.

OP, forget it. Turn it into a lamp.
