Or a 3/4 pipe will be fine. These things don't move that much air. I have a vacuum gauge on my nitrox stick because I was curious if it would cause any restriction. It vibrates slightly.

It depends on how long this pipe is. My recommendations aren't my invention, I learned the hard way when I owned my dive center. The manufacturer of my compressor stressed this point when I moved to a new location and had to install a pipe to the outside that was around 8 feet long.
