If you can get a clearance form signed by your doctor I don't see why not. As long as you are reasonably fit you should be fine. You may also check with Divers Alert Network regarding any medications that you take. Some medications can cause problems when scuba diving so it would be good to know before you spend the money.

Good luck and welcome!

Your cardiologist is probably the best person to ask, as he will know how complete the revascularization was, and how much small vessel disease is present.

A significant number of diving fatalities are eventually signed out as "heart attacks". There is definitely exertion associated with diving -- the gear is heavy, and one must get in and out of the water. I would want to be fairly certain that a test like an exercise thallium would show no underperfused heart muscle under stress to feel confident that you'd be okay diving. And of course, you need a healthy set of lungs and a reasonably good back as well.

Check with your cardiologist. He has the data.

In case your physician is not familiar with scuba, the download called “medical statement” on this site: http://www.wrstc.com/downloads.php is the one used by several of the certifying agencies, and might be an interesting read for you, as well.

You need to ask a M.D., preferably one who dives. In person.
