Hi sorry if this is not the right area to post this question but:

Can a bend come back to haunt you. My husband suffered a bend about 8 years ago, he was treated straight away and it was found the cause was a hole in the heart.

About 6 months ago he started with a sense of fatigue in his arms and legs which he describes as the same as if he had done a hundred press ups. He is showing no signs of actual weakness and the doctors aren't really sure as blood tests are negative but we are just wondering whether it might be a delayed result of the bend he had.

Cheers

I would certainly make sure the doctor is aware of that DCS incident so he has a complete medical history, but it's not related to his 8-year-old DCS incident.

From what you wrote it sounds like your husband was not diving prior to these new symptoms. Right? While a bends hit can leave residual neurological damage, and make a person susceptable to another hit, the fact he was treated right away with (complete resolution?) suggests he probably had no lasting damage. Was there lasting deficit?

Even if he had suffered deficit, I've never heard of a spontaneous latent resurgence of generalized symptoms like this.
